11 facts about me (interesting or not; you decide)

1)            I am an electrical engineer, working with a real estate firm. And I don’t like it at all.

2)            I hate telling this about myself, but I am a procrastinator usually.

3)            Zodiacally I am a diehard Libra, as am born in cusp.

4)            I am a big Robert deNiro and Martin Scorsese fan

5)            I love sports cricket, football anything I love them

6)            I love food and love to cook, though not regularly

7)            If I am allowed to play a character from one of my all time favorite movies, it would be Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver (1976)

8)            My Guitar makes me at peace. Its harmony for me.

9)            I like coffee and books, they are perfect match to me, like love and life

10)          I desire to own a café someday, Indian-Italian kind, where I could serve best coffee in town, and offer books for free reading.

11)          I love cosmology and its mysteries, the endless possibilities it pays.

MY ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS ARE:

  1. What are you currently doing in your life?

Professionally I work in capacity of an electrical & maintenance engineer with a reputed real-estate firm. And be sure I don’t like it at all.

Personally, my incognizance is too prudent to figure this one out.

  1. What did you want to become when you were a kid?

Truly speaking I always wanted to be Batman, was infatuated by the gadgets and heroism perhaps. Though, I still want somewhat similar attributes.

  1. How far will it take you to become the person you want to be? Or have you reached that state?

I reckon I am in lacuna of it, that Delphic state, still seeking what I wanna be. But for sure want to be a good, noble, kind man that lived with generosity and love, perhaps it might take my whole life to be that way.

  1. What is the most liveliest, most beautiful memory you have?

The day I first saw my new born brother, that would be the most beautiful memory till date. His closed eyes meant dream to me and the touch of his fingertips were divine.

Liveliest would be when I first got picked for under-15 cricket team.

  1. Would you like to change anything in your life, maybe your past or present?

Yes, my insolence towards a few, in the past. It would be pleasant if it could be eradicated.

  1. Who do you cherish, love the most in this world?

That’s easy, my family. I don’t particularly tell them that often but they mean the world to me.

  1. What is that one thing you will choose to do, even if a million dollars were offered to you to stop doing that?

You gotta be kidding me, million dollars are heck lot of money :P…lolzzz

Perhaps, love for literature or my solitary indiscreet sketching.

  1. Where in the world (if you had your whim) would you like to live?

Paris, most probably

Its said cities have sexes, London is a man, Paris a woman. So I would like to explore Paris then, I like how this city offers the knack, the charm, the intellect and conjecture that somewhat intrinsically defines a woman.

  1. Who is your favourite author/poet? Quote your favourite lines.

That’s not fair altogether, but still if I had to then I would pick ‘Munshi Premchand’ for his courage to write sanity and ‘Charles Bukowski’ for his courage to write insanity.

Quote: Out of many I would pick these,

“The intelligent have plans; the wise have principles.”

“It is in the heart that the values lie. I wish I could make people understand that a loving heart is riches, and riches enough, and that without it intellect is poverty.”

“People with no morals often considered themselves more free, but mostly they lacked the ability to feel or love.”

  1. Why do you write?

I always had echoes in me, good or bad I can’t shout, but they were always there. I wanted to paint my recluse somewhere so whats better than writing. So, I would say I write for myself basically, it gives me peace.

  1. What does ‘being happy’ mean to you?

‘Being happy’ for me is being loved and loving someone out of my soul, out of everything. Doing things which brings me satisfaction, peace. An act of benevolence or something. Eating with people I love.

  1. Heyyyy, I loved reading more about you Saaransh. Great answers, and I love the quotes you chose.

Hahaha. I love it. You wanted to be Batman. Ok, confess up Saarinsh. That desire never died, did it? You still dream about being Batman, don’t you? 😉

Hey, if you dislike your job so much, why don’t you try to go into some other field of work? You can do that, you know. All you have to do is make the decision. Or have you already?

    Great post, my friend.
    🙂

  2. Very insightful. You seem to be the divergent of the cliched engineer. Cmon’ Batman, cricketer, guitarist. State of Metaplasia. 😀
I did not know about the theory of the cities. Great take.
Mentioning Premchand makes me want to read more of his work. Whatever little hindi stories I have read, were authored by him.
Owning the Indo-Italian Restaurant. Goooood. I will start my standups from there. Hahha! 😛
Cosmology is something I love too. Aside from the phyical concepts, spiritually too. Reading, re-reading until it goes in my regular sized brain.

The answers were totally worth the wait, fellow procrastinator! 😀

  3. haha…yes I just happen to be an engineer 😛 …. thanks, I have this on my bucket list to travel to all these cities also the ‘transsexual’ New York……………m more than sure ‘Premchand’ will enthrall u…………..
For sure, its a deal then ur stand ups in the cafe whenever tht suppose to happen, it wud b wonderrrrrrrrrrrful :D…yayy m making positive engagements already :D…………..Wow friend I haven’t found many lovers of cosmology its grt to know one, its intriguing isn’t it……….. haha.. i like the physics part whenever tht goes inside my petite sized brain.

Its so pleasing u reading and commenting ..appreciate it….have a grt weekend 🙂

  4. Congratulations on both awards. It’s always fascinating to learn more about the creative mind behind the efforts posted. Ah, so you’re both right brain, left brain, some actually consider this a myth. I happen to believe there’s some validity to it. It’s just my theory, that those lucky enough to be blessed with both seem to feel the struggle more, think deeper and wonder about the “why” and “what if” more than the right only, left only. But who really knows?

Taxi Driver, is a very dark and marvelous film, which eventually triggered a strange chain of events here in the US. Delighted to read you have a connection with Charles Bukowski, I happen to enjoy his words, he can be both profound and provoking. I suppose that’s an example of what great art is.

All very interesting, I’m looking forward to following along. Thank you for a fascinating read.

    Warm regards always,
    Mia

  5. Thank u Mia, I really appreciate u visiting :)….. I dunno abt the creativity or such attributes about myself…I rather opine I have a convoluted mind.

Oh ‘Taxi Driver’, High-five friend… I never get tired of Travis Bickle, a master piece certainly, perhaps m not aware of the strange events u talk about???

And Bukowski,he is a gem, I absolutely agree with u – he can be both profound and provoking – this is something only Bukowski fan’s can understand 😛
Its always nice to meet a Bukowski fan 😀

Thanks Mia for dropping by …….m certainly looking forward to read many more pieces on ur blog that can mesmerize me as U already have 🙂

  6. Saaransh, you’re most welcome, it’s my pleasure. I look forward to reading more posts and enjoying more of your amazing artwork.

The character of Travis Bickle certainly influenced a viewer here in the states, not in a good way. Let me attempt to recap this quickly. A young man by the name of John Hinckley Jr. was obsessed with the film, “Taxi Driver”. He developed an obsessive infatuation with the actress Jodie Foster and goes to ALL types of extremes while stalking her, in order to get her attention. In 1981 Hinckley decides to get her attention by assassinating the US President Ronald Reagan. Anyway he did indeed shoot the president and three others. It’s quite surreal when life imitates art.

It is always nice to meet another Bukowski fan, so true. Thank you for your lovely reply. Please enjoy the upcoming weekend. ~ Mia 🙂

  7. Oh yea John Hinckley Jr., I did heard about him a bit….though not the obsession part. Thanks for letting me know, i’ll read about it more.
I do opine- life imitates art much more than art imitates life.
Keep writing my fellow Bukowski fan…..may u have a wonderful week ahead 🙂
